Job Opportunity: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) – Pediatrics

Location: Oakland, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (5 days/week, 8 hours/day)

Job Description

• Provide clinical social work services in a pediatric setting.
• Must be willing and able to float to other units and facilities as needed.
• Work hours are standard 8-hour day shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in California.
• Minimum of 2 years of Licensed Clinical Social Worker experience.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker experience within the last year.
• Experience working with pediatric patients.
• Experience with trauma-informed care.
• Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in outpatient clinic settings.

Certifications & Training Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA certified, original card required at orientation.
• Advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) are not specified as required for this role.
• Completion of unit-specific competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency exams with a passing score of 80% or higher.
• Completion of core training modules (Core Part I, II, III) with passing scores, updated annually.
• Pass/fail Telemetry exam is not required for this position.
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certifications may be required if applicable to the unit.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including specific county and nationwide searches.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
• Education verification or copy of diploma/transcript.
• Drug testing: Standard 9-panel (excluding THC) within 30 days of start; must be negative.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including physician’s statement of fitness to work.
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required).
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years, no declinations accepted except medical exemptions).
  • Two negative TB tests (PPD, QuantiFERON, or Tspot) with specific timing requirements.
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: IGG titer or 2 vaccines required.
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination (declination must be signed within 1 year).
  • Varicella: IGG titer or 2 vaccines required (history of disease not accepted).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required as per facility policy.

Additional Requirements

• Two supervisory references required, preferably from the most recent employment.
• Current and updated resume including last 7 years of work history; gaps of 30 days or more must be explained.
• Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually.
• Completion of facility-specific documents and trainings prior to start, including:

  • COVID-19 preparedness and questionnaire.
  • Parking and uniform information.
  • Cyber security awareness training and quiz.
  • HIPAA training modules and quizzes.
  • Emergency contact information.
• Candidates must complete learning modules through the facility’s learning management system before starting work on the floor.
• Candidates must be prepared for pass/fail testing on medication and pharmacology competency exams.
