• Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, 0600-1630

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI accepted
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI accepted

Required Licenses

• Valid California RN license with primary source verification (NURSYS verification required)

Prior Travel Experience

Required Competencies and Testing

• Medication Calculation Test (required for all RNs)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias EKG Basic or Advanced depending on unit)
• Color Blind Testing (annual update)
• Competency Exam (within 2 years of start date)
• Pass/Fail Testing for EKG/Medication (not required for Per Diem)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam within 1 year of start
• Fit Mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (fit testing available onsite except at certain locations)
• TDAP vaccine within last 10 years (declination allowed)
• Negative TB test (QGOLD, TSPOT, or 2-Step PPD) within 1 year, updated annually
• TB Questionnaire annually
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low/equivocal titer)
• Hepatitis B Surface Antibody Titer (declination allowed if low/equivocal)
• Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (declination allowed if low/equivocal)
• Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year (excluding marijuana panel due to CA state law)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required Nov 1 - Apr 30, declination allowed)
• COVID vaccination record preferred

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of EPIC Education Modules prior to or at start (approx. 8 hours)
• Completion of YouLearn Modules assigned by facility prior to or at start
• Completion of HIPAA Education Module prior to or at start
• Review of facility policies including Hand Hygiene, Dress and Appearance, Drug and Alcohol Free Policy

Summary

This is a travel contract RN position in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) requiring at least 2 years of RN experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, and a valid California RN license. The role includes floating, weekend and on-call duties, and requires completion of several competency exams and facility-specific training modules. Health and immunization requirements are strict and must be current. First-time travelers are accepted.
