Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel/Contract
Location: San Francisco, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position primarily in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), with some floating to Preoperative (Preop) areas
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekends or on-call
- Shift start times vary between 6:00 AM and 7:30 PM
- Ambulatory experience highly preferred
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- Ambulatory care experience highly preferred
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (PACU)
- Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume at least entry-level to intermediate RN experience in PACU or ambulatory care settings
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, and education verification
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
- Education verification required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred but not mandatory)
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work
- TB screening: Negative QGold or TSPOT within 90 days of start or 2-step PPD testing with annual renewal
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella
- Seasonal Flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or failed tests)
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually
Competency and Skills Verification
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Unit-specific skills checklist required and renewed annually
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required depending on unit
