Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel/Contract

Location: San Francisco, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Position primarily in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), with some floating to Preoperative (Preop) areas
Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekends or on-call
Shift start times vary between 6:00 AM and 7:30 PM
Ambulatory experience highly preferred

Required Qualifications

Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
Ambulatory care experience highly preferred

Experience Requirements

Specialty: Registered Nurse (PACU)
Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume at least entry-level to intermediate RN experience in PACU or ambulatory care settings
Prior travel experience: Not required

Background and Compliance Requirements

7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, and education verification
FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter

Education verification required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred but not mandatory)
Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work
TB screening: Negative QGold or TSPOT within 90 days of start or 2-step PPD testing with annual renewal
Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella
- Seasonal Flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or failed tests)
Respiratory safety clearance required annually

Competency and Skills Verification

Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
Unit-specific skills checklist required and renewed annually
Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required depending on unit
