Job Description

• Position: OB/Labor and Delivery RN
• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• On-call: Up to 48 hours mandatory on-call every other weekend and holidays
• Experience Required: Minimum 1.5 years in specialty
• Prior travel experience: Not required (first-time travelers are welcome)
• Work radius: 75 miles
• Facility is Baby Friendly Designated Hospital
• Responsibilities include triage, labor & delivery, routine postpartum and newborn care
• Must be able to multitask and critically think due to patient dynamics

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Preferred Certification:

• STABLE (post-resuscitation care for newborns)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of I9 or Attestation
• Government issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• E-Verify or Attestation
• Background Check (7-year criminal check, education verification, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, etc.)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (updated every 30 days or contract renewal)
• Education Verification
• Physical Exam (initial and updated annually)
• Immunizations and Health Documents including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within required timeframes)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred within 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella titer or vaccination
  • Drug Testing (10 panel within 30 days of start, updated annually)
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination

• Proof of 2 clinical references (within past 2 years)
• Complete application/resume
• Specialty-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
• Workers Compensation Documentation (preferred but not required)
• Facility-specific learning modules and orientation safety manual acknowledgment
• Color Blind Testing and Competency Exams as applicable

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for a Labor and Delivery RN with at least 1.5 years of experience. The position requires night shifts with mandatory on-call duties every other weekend and holidays. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NRP, with STABLE preferred. First-time travelers are welcome. The facility is Baby Friendly designated and expects strong clinical skills in triage, labor & delivery, and postpartum/newborn care. Compliance with extensive background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific training is mandatory.
