• License: Arkansas State or Compact RN license required
• Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass a basic dysrhythmia test
  • Return staff must have been gone for 1 year or more
  • 100-mile radius rule applies (no locals)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA only) – required for Labor & Delivery and other applicable units
• BLS (AHA only) – required for all clinical candidates
• PALS (AHA only) – required for Pediatrics, Emergency Department, Endoscopy, Gyn/Peds, Outpatient Interventional Unit, Radiology-PICC, Short-Stay/Outpatient Unit, Ambulatory Services Pre/Post Op, Surgical Services Pre/Post Op-PACU
• NRP – as required
• TNCC – as required
• NIH Stroke Certification – required for Telemetry and MS/Telemetry units

Competency Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
• Competency Exam (required)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry unit)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) – candidates expected to pass a lethal or full dysrhythmia test (may be unit-specific)

Background and Verification Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually; must include all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal/extension
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal/extension
• Education verification for all candidates
• State License Primary Source Verification
• NURSYS verification for all RNs

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Initial physical exam, updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination required
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year, updated annually; if past positive, clear chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire required
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug testing: 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (no declinations accepted; religious and medical exemptions allowed)
• COVID-19 vaccination or declination accepted (agency form acceptable)

This position is ideal for RNs with night shift availability who meet licensure and certification requirements and are comfortable working in a telemetry/tele RN role.
