Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (NICU)
• Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 days each
• Floating: Yes, floating within scope to sister facilities is required
• Local Radius Rule: Must live more than 75 miles from the contracted facility
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 5 days of RTO accepted
• First-timers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)
• Charting System: Epic

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (NICU)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (first-time travelers not accepted)

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP/NALS (Neonatal Resuscitation Program / Neonatal Advanced Life Support)
• STABLE (Post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care of sick infants)

Licensure & Documentation

• Current and valid Driver’s License or State-issued ID required
• Utility bill in candidate’s name with matching address dated within last 3 months (address must be >75 miles from facility)
• Pending state license not accepted

Orientation & Training

• Patient Care Orientation Class (Skills) mandatory for all RNs
• EPIC training required if no EPIC experience within last 6 months (usually scheduled on Thursdays)
• Fit Testing (N95 Mask) required onsite prior to start
• Facility-specific HealthStream modules to be completed onsite

Background & Compliance Checks

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and OFAC sanctions list checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• Education verification of highest degree required
• Fingerprinting may be required depending on facility
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen including marijuana (required within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
• Physical exam: Statement of good health within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (mandatory for NICU and related units)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination series or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history)
  • Flu vaccine required annually (with agency-approved exemptions accepted)
  • COVID vaccination strongly preferred (declinations accepted with agency form)

Competency & Skills Verification

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (100% passing score required)
• Unit-specific competency exams with minimum 80% passing score, updated annually
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (90% passing score required), updated annually
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) covering safety, ethics, patient care, and workplace violence, updated annually
• Color Blind Testing within 60 days prior to start
• Behavioral Competency Exam for behavioral health units (if applicable)

References & Work History

• Two former direct supervisor references required (one within 1 year, one within 3 years)
• Resume covering last 7 years of employment with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• 10-year work history verification including international positions

• Locals are not accepted for this travel contract
• Block scheduling is not accommodated
• Must comply with facility-specific policies including ethical business conduct, drug and alcohol-free workplace, offender registration, and information access agreements

This position is ideal for experienced NICU RNs with prior travel contract experience who meet the certification and compliance requirements and are willing to work a 13-week travel assignment in Oklahoma City with a 12-hour day shift schedule.
