Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: Pomona, California

Job Details

- Shifts: 5 shifts per week
- Shift Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Weekends/On Call/Holidays: Not required
- Dress Code: Scrubs with closed-toe shoes
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Licensure/Certification:
- California State Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Nuclear Medicine (NM)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience: Minimum 2 years prior work experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (highest required years of experience)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Job Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine imaging and isotope therapy according to established standards and practices.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Background and Compliance Checks
- Background check covering the last 7 years, including Social Security address check for the last 15 years, national criminal search, sex offender search, education verification, and international searches if applicable.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start.
- Medi-Cal Exclusion Search (California-specific) within 30 days prior to start.
Required Certifications and Competencies
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA only)
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, CHEMO, CPI, MAB, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable to specialty/unit (check unit-specific requirements)
- Competency Exams:
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam annually with a minimum score of 80%
- General Competency Exam annually with a minimum score of 80%
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Facility-specific documents must be reviewed and signed prior to start, including orientation packet acknowledgment, fingernail hygiene policy, timekeeping acknowledgment, acknowledgment of responsibility, standard of care acknowledgment (for certain units), TJC attestation, job description, training questionnaire, and modules completion.
- Dress code specifics: solid colored scrubs only (no camouflage, jean texture, or character patterns).
- Badge photo on a plain blue background required within 72 hours of signing.
- Systems access request form and orientation packet acknowledgment must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, cleared to work without restrictions.
- Fit mask test required (specific approved masks listed). Onsite fit testing may be available with approval.
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with specific timing requirements)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (immune titers or vaccination records)
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series, immune titer, or signed declination)
- Varicella (immune titer or vaccination records; history of disease not accepted)
- Hepatitis C (immune titer)
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant tests not accepted. Annual drug screen required for travel and per diem.
- Seasonal vaccinations or declinations required for:
- Flu (required for new candidates starting in September; deadline for working candidates is 11/30)
- COVID-19 (most recent seasonal vaccine or facility-specific declination)
Employment History and References
- Complete 15 years of work history required on application, including cities and states worked and lived.
- Two professional references required, including one from the most recent experience. References must be from a manager, supervisor, Charge RN, or HR. Facility evaluations are acceptable.
Additional Notes
- Radiation badges for new candidates are not provided by the agency; candidates must obtain badges from the client facility.
- Drug diversion module required for RNs and LVNs prior to start.
- Modules and training must be completed through the facility’s LMS platform before starting.
- All required documents and certifications must be verified and uploaded prior to start.
