Travel Physical Therapist (Therapy/Rehabilitation)
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Physical Therapy (Therapy/Rehabilitation)
- Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (start time flexible up to 8:00 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Must work one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) during a 4-week period, with a day off during that week
- Primary Role: Inpatient acute care, providing therapy services across multiple patient care areas including medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology
- Floating: May float within therapy service lines as needed
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius rule: 75 miles)
- Pending State License: Accepted
Experience & Skills
- Required Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

- Acute care experience

- Desire to work with a variety of patient populations
Certifications & Licenses
- Required Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- State Physical Therapy License (must be verified)
- Additional Certifications: May be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.)—refer to unit-specific requirements
- Pending State License: Allowed
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID)
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest degree related to profession
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (2 negative PPDs or equivalent)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
- Fit mask testing (N95) with annual renewal
- Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, hand hygiene policy, dress code policy, and others as required
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable (e.g., medication test, oncology competency if assigned to oncology unit)
- References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)

Additional Notes
- No on-call requirement
- Guaranteed minimum hours: 3 shifts per 13-week contract
- Restrictions on return-to-office (RTO): No more than 7 days within the 13-week contract
- First-time travelers accepted
