Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OR RN Circulator)

Location: Pratt, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Role: OR RN Circulator
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Shift: 06:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year required
  • Specialty Proficiency: Must be proficient in Orthopedics (total joints), General Surgery, and Obstetrics (OB)
  • Licensure: Kansas RN license required
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Special Procedures/Equipment:
    • Orthopedics
    • Gynecology (GYN)
    • Podiatry
    • General Surgery
    • Endoscopy
    • Labor and Delivery including C-sections
  • Weekend/On-Call: Call every 5th or 6th weekend plus one weekday
  • First Time Traveler: No

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
  • Valid Driver’s License (time sensitive for system access)
  • Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
  • Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Federal Criminal Felony & Misdemeanor check
    • SSN Trace, Sex Offender, National Criminal, DMV Search
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (within 30 days of start and updated for renewals)

Certifications (Must be current and valid)

  • ACLS (ARC, AHA, or DoD approved)
  • BLS (ARC, AHA, or DoD approved)
  • PALS (ARC, AHA, or DoD approved)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as required
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred for ICU, required for ED
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) for Labor and Delivery
  • Tech Certification Verification (for Allied Professionals)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission annual training)
  • STABLE (preferred for Labor and Delivery)
  • State License Primary Source Verification
  • NURSYS Verification (for all RNs)

Competencies

  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% passing score)
  • Unit-specific Competency Exam (minimum 80% passing score)
  • Core Training Parts I, II, III (OSHA, HIPAA, Joint Commission annual training)

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Confidentiality Agreement (must review and sign prior to start)
  • Standards of Performance Agreement (must review and sign prior to start)
  • Agency Information Sheet (must review and sign prior to start)
  • Training Videos (must watch prior to start)
  • First Day Instructions (provided before start)
  • Restraints Training (review and return demonstration required)
  • Suicide and Behavioral Risk Assessment Training (review prior to arrival)
  • Covid Vaccination Declination form (if declining vaccines)
  • WorkRamp Modules (must be completed prior to start)

Health Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 12 months, including physician statement clearing ability to work and free of communicable diseases
  • Tdap vaccine required
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year or clear chest X-ray if previously positive
  • TB Questionnaire (required for all travelers)
  • Measles (Rubeola) immunity: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Mumps immunity: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Rubella immunity: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella immunity: 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Drug Testing: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 12 months
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine (mandatory during flu season Oct 31 - Mar 31) or approved medical exemption
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required; facility accepts vaccination, declination, or medical/religious exemption

History and References

  • Proof of 2 clinical or professional references (hospital evaluations accepted)
  • Performance evaluations if worked with the facility for over 1 year
  • Employment application/resume
  • Signed Skills Checklist (updated annually)
  • Internal evaluations if worked over 2 years

This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs with orthopedic, general surgery, and OB skills looking for a 13-week travel assignment in Kansas with a structured weekday schedule and periodic on-call weekends.
