Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist
Location: Escondido, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts, Days
No Locals Accepted
Required Certifications
- Board Certified Nuclear Med Tech and/or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (NVTCB) or ARRT (N)
- American Heart Association recognized BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, must carry copy at all times
- NIH Stroke Certification (NIHSS) required for Radiology Interventional and other units (due by 2/14/2024)
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated, assume standard for specialty (minimum 1+ years recommended)

Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check within 30 days of start, including:
- County criminal search
- National criminal search
- Sex offender search
- FACIS Level 3 (OIG/GSA)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 30 days prior to start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start (renewal requirements vary by contract type)
- Flu vaccination or declination form required prior to start and annually during flu season
- TB testing: Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Other immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (vaccines or positive titers or declination accepted)
- COVID vaccination preferred but not required (declination form if unvaccinated)
Additional Documentation and Training
- I9 verification required
- Driver’s license or state ID with address required
- Badge photo with white background required prior to start (no selfies)
- Online orientation required before start
- Pass/fail arrhythmia exam prior to start for applicable units
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams with minimum 80% pass rate, to be completed within 12 months of start
- Skills checklist updated annually
- References: 2 references within 3 years from manager, supervisor, or charge RN required
- Compliance with HIPAA and facility safety manuals
