Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Seattle, Washington

Position Details

  • Start Date: January 5
  • Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 4x10 hour shifts
  • Weekend Requirement: No
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Average Daily Census:
    • 16 therapists
    • 20 physicians
    • 90 patients per day
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced, team-oriented; includes palliative and pain management cases; pediatric and adult patients
  • Department Hours: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Systems Used: Mosaic (machines, patient info), EPIC (scheduling)
  • Equipment: 4 machines (1 Cyclotron, 2 Elekta Infinity, 1 Varian Ethos)
  • Scrub Code: Any color scrubs or business casual (no jeans for radiation therapy)

  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT (T) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Therapy certification

Additional Requirements & Notes

  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Maximum 6 days
  • Guaranteed Hours:
    • May be called off without charge or placed on-call in 4-hour increments up to one shift in a 2-week cycle during low census
    • No scheduling on weekends or holidays for ambulatory or surgical services areas that are closed
  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year criminal background check within 45 days of start
    • National Sex Offender Public Website (NSOPW) search
    • Washington State Patrol WATCH search
    • Education verification as applicable
  • Health Requirements:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start
    • Fit mask test within 9-12 months of start (specific mask types required)
    • Immunizations and titers:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
      • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination)
      • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines; history of disease not accepted at this facility)
      • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination
      • COVID vaccination or declination for tracking
    • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within a year of start (required by agency)
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (for RNs/LPNs if applicable)
    • Color blind testing
    • Other competency exams as required by unit/job description
  • Facility Specific:
    • Photo for badge (DMV style, no selfies) required before start
    • Various agreements and checklists to be completed prior to start
    • EPIC integration training and attestation required for RNs
    • Performance evaluation requested at end of assignment (Montlake only)
  • Dress Code: No jeans allowed for radiation therapy staff
