Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Salina, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, 07:00 - 17:00
• On-call/Float: Minimal call required (currently every 5th weekend)
• License Required: Kansas state license or compact license at time of submission
• Certifications Required: ACLS and BLS
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• First Time Travelers: Accepted
• EMR System: Any
• Radius Restriction: 100 mile radius rule (mileage reviewed upon submittal)

Clinical Skills & Procedures

• Experience with ION robot, Fujinon scopes, and Medivator1 equipment
• Procedures include:

  • Post-Procedure care (Recover conscious sedation)
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Circulate
  • Colonoscopy
  • Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)

Required Certifications

• ACLS: Must be AHA certified (required for multiple units including MS/Tele, Med Surg, Tele, PCU, Dialysis, ER, ICU, Labor & Delivery, OR, PACU)
• BLS: Must be AHA certified (required for all travelers)
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM) but not mandatory for this role unless specified by unit

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education verification or proof of highest degree earned
• NURSYS verification required for all RNs
• Physical exam within 30 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or ARNP confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• Drug testing: 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30 days of start (SAMHSA certified, MRO reviewed)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B immunity or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (required for Birth Center/NICU staff)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccine or declination accepted

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific Healthstream modules (~8 hours) prior to start
• Photo for badge required
• N95 Fit Test within 12 months or completed onsite during orientation
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
• Prior employees of this facility will not be considered
