Job Opportunity: CVT / EP Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Shift: Monday-Friday, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM), 40 hours/week
  • Cases Required:
    • Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
    • Permanent Pacemaker Insertions (PPI)
    • Pulmonary Artery (PA) Insertion
    • Right Heart Catheterization
    • Temporary Pacemakers
    • Conduction Studies
    • Insertion/Programming of AICDs
    • Pacemaker Insertion
  • On-call: Not required
  • Weekend Work: Not required
  • Floating: Possible floating to like units

Experience & Certification Requirements

  • Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
  • First-timers: Accepted if they have previous experience
  • Licensure: South Carolina QRSA license required
  • Certifications Required:
    • ARRT or CCI certification
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Radiation Badge: Required and must be provided by the agency (facility does not provide)

Additional Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
    • Includes SSN trace, statewide and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam updated annually
    • Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or declination form
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
    • Annual TB questionnaire
    • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
    • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption (during flu season)
    • COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references required
  • Employment History: Verification of last 3 clinical employers required
  • Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology and other competency exams as applicable
  • Facility Orientation: Completion of required orientation modules and first day instructions prior to start
  • Photo: Passport-style photo required for badge

Notes

  • Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • All certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start date
  • Radiation badge processing may take 5-7 days; candidates cannot start without it on the floor
  • Candidates with facial hair are encouraged to shave for fit testing or provide their own PAPR

This position is ideal for a CVT / EP Tech with at least 1 year of experience in cardiology/radiology procedures, holding the necessary certifications and licensure, and able to commit to a 13-week travel contract in Charleston, SC.
