Registered Nurse (Behavioral Health/Pediatrics) - Travel/Contract

Location: Helena, Montana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Population: Children and adolescents, primarily with suicidal ideations, ADHD, and spectrum disorders
• Facility Type: 82-bed children’s hospital, 24/7 operation
• Shift: Nights
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Charting System: Epic
• Experience Required: Minimum 1+ year behavioral health/psychiatric experience in pediatrics
• Additional Skills: Milieu management experience required
• Locals accepted at travel rate

Required Certifications & Competencies

• CPR (BLS and First Aid) – BLS must be AHA or ARC certified; First Aid must be in-person
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required based on unit description
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required based on unit description
• National Certification/Verification prior to start and upon expiration (as applicable)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) – Preferred; facility will provide class if candidate does not have it
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – Required as applicable
• Competency Exam – Required as applicable to profession/specialty
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement – Annual Joint Commission training

Required Documentation & Health Requirements

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background Checks within 1 year (SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide, Sex Offender)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start
• State License primary source verification prior to start and upon expiration
• NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP) prior to start
• Physical Exam within last 12 months
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (PPD, Q Gold, or T-Spot within 1 year; Chest X-ray within 5 years if positive PPD)
• TB Questionnaire (updated annually if past positive)
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination during flu season (10/1-3/31)

Additional Requirements

• Completion of online facility-specific training modules (~8-12 hours) prior to orientation
• 2 professional references within 3 years of hire
• Skills checklist required

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
