Job Description

  • Perform routine and specialized breast imaging procedures to produce quality diagnostic images.
  • Work independently using sound judgment and clinical skills to ensure safe, precise, and timely procedures.
  • Provide competent patient assessment, monitoring, and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety.
  • May perform specific procedures and orient new staff to the department.

Required Certifications

  • AART R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • CRT M (Certified Radiologic Technologist - Mammography)

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Background and Screening Requirements

  • 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List searches as applicable.
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
  • Employment history verification covering 7 years with no gaps over 30 days without explanation.
  • Professional references required (2 for clinical/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care).

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must clear candidate for work).
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (with accommodations for failed tests).
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (annual renewal required)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B series or declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination with mask requirement
  • Drug testing as noted above.
  • Color blind exam (in-person) if applicable.
  • Respiratory safety clearance prior to start, renewed annually.
