Job Opportunity: Medical Lab Scientist (Travel/Contract)
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey

Job Description
- Must have a BS in Medical Technology or related field with 1 year of clinical rotations in a Medical Technology school.
- 4 years of Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) experience required.
- Recent dedicated Blood Bank experience required (Generalist experience does not qualify).
- Strong blood bank experience is essential.
- Preferred experience with Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and Level 1 Trauma patients.
- Experience with Softbank and EPIC systems is highly preferred.
- Work will be in Blood Bank and Transfusion services.
- Shift: 3 PM to 11:30 PM.
- Every third weekend (Friday/Saturday) required.
- No on-call duties.
- ASCP certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Education: BS in Medical Technology or related field with clinical rotations.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years in MT or MLS, with recent dedicated Blood Bank experience.
- Certifications: ASCP preferred.
- Must meet all state licensure requirements for Medical Laboratory Scientists in New Jersey.
Schedule & Work Conditions
- Shift: 3 PM - 11:30 PM
- Every third weekend (Friday/Saturday) required
- No on-call required
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Must provide proof of identity (Government Issued Photo ID).
- Must clear criminal background check within 30 days of start.
- Drug screening within 30 days of start.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility requirements.
- Physical exam within the last 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
- Annual influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required.
- Completion of facility-specific education and safety training prior to start.
- Must complete required competency exams and pass orientation testing.
- References: 2 references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference.
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required.
- Work history verification required for New Jersey candidates (minimum 1 year prior to start date).

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
