Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Oncology (Travel/Contract)
Location: Sacramento, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Description
- Role as a Case Manager in a clinic setting.
- Responsibilities include working with the authorization department, managing new patient referrals, collaborating with multiple departments to schedule appointments.
- Responding to patient messages via MyChart and EPIC pools.
- Patient diagnoses primarily include leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and stem cell transplant cases.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of oncology nursing experience required.
- Preference for candidates with Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) experience.
- 1st time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required).
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Preferred Certifications
- Chemotherapy Certification (ONS/ONCC)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- BMTCN (Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID (clear photo required).
- Background checks including criminal history and verification within 30 days of start.
- Education verification as applicable.
- State nursing license primary source verification within 30 days of start.
- Physical exam clearance within one year of start.
- Fit testing for N95 masks within one year of start (not required for case managers).
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titers or vaccinations)
- Hepatitis B titer or declination/series
- Varicella titer or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (required by November 1)
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start.
- Completion of required competency exams and unit-specific skills checklists.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start.
- Badge pickup required prior to orientation (during business hours).
Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete all required UC Learning LMS modules before start date unless an extenuating circumstance is approved.
- Two clinical references required, including one from the most recent employer or within the last 6 months.
- Employment application must cover the last 3 years with explanations for gaps over 6 months.
- Compliance with facility-specific policies and training is mandatory.
