Overview
- Travel/contract role in Columbus, Ohio
- 16-week assignment
- Day or night shifts, 3x12 hours
- Adults and geriatrics
Key Job Details
- Oncology experience is preferred but not required
- Floating to other MedSurg Oncology units is required
- Staffing goal is 1:4, with up to 1:5
- Weekends vary based on unit needs
- No blocked scheduling
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Oncology experience
Preferred Qualifications
- ONS Chemotherapy certification
- Previous travel experience preferred
Clinical Focus
- Solid tumor oncology patients across the cancer journey, including new diagnosis, treatment, and end-of-life care
- Common diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancer, plus antineoplastic chemotherapy encounters
- Emphasis on infection prevention and fall prevention
- Unit also manages true med-surg issues

- Computerized charting is used
- Parking is available through multiple permit options at additional cost

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
