Physical Therapist Travel Opportunity

Location: Rancho Mirage, California

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Implement treatment plans and select modalities to meet established rehabilitation goals.
• Provide prescribed physical therapy treatments to facilitate rehabilitation of mentally or physically handicapped patients.
• Assist in evaluating patient progress and recommend discharge planning.
• Conduct and assist with patient activities and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure compliance with professional conduct and hospital licensing/accreditation standards, including the Physical Therapy Practice Act.
• Delegate patient treatment procedures appropriately.
• Provide safe and comprehensive discharge planning.
• Maintain productivity standards and thorough, timely, legible patient care documentation.
• Utilize resources to assist with patient flow (e.g., scheduling, printing forms).
• Educate and mentor student interns as assigned.
• Participate in special department programs and facilitate interdisciplinary communication to maximize patient outcomes.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and treatment areas.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, co-workers, supervisors, physicians, and other departments.

Work Schedule

• Inpatient Acute Physical Therapy setting.
• Scheduled shifts: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
• Preferred: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (40 hours/week).
• 8-hour shifts may be considered if needed.
• Blended overtime rate applies for 10-hour shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physical Therapy
