Job Opportunity: Radiology Technologist
Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 6 weeks
Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic examinations with minimal supervision. Key duties include positioning patients, operating radiographic equipment, and ensuring radiation safety. The role involves portable x-ray exams in various settings such as patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms. Additional responsibilities include assisting with radiopaque contrast media administration, maintaining records, scheduling, and providing patient assistance as needed.
Work Schedule
- Night shift: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Weekends and holidays as needed
- No on-call required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in New Jersey
- New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist license
- ARRT certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience in an acute care facility, including experience within the last year
- Experience working independently in emergency room and trauma settings
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Experience in surgical technology
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 5 lbs., push/pull at least 10 lbs.
- Ability to stand for a minimum of 6 hours per day
Additional Information
- Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including those with cultural, language, hearing, or visual impairments
- Adherence to organizational competencies and standards is required
