Job Opportunity: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Broadview, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel Health Services
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for performing basic nursing duties including:

Executing physician orders
Operating pill call and sick call
Assisting physicians in examinations and treatments
Performing technical/clinical procedures within the scope of LPN licensure
Managing medication dispensing and documentation
Maintaining medical supplies and equipment inventory
Performing emergency procedures as needed
Documenting and reporting activities according to policies

Additional responsibilities include maintaining security and confidentiality of medical records, observing and recording patient behavior, inspecting medical units for contraband, assisting with reports and documentation, and supporting accreditation efforts. The role requires working in a secure, potentially hostile environment with inmates/residents, including rotating shifts and physical security checks.

Required Qualifications

Valid LPN/LVN license in Illinois
Minimum of 1 year correctional nursing experience
Correctional nursing experience within the last year
