Echo Tech

Location: Grand Junction, Colorado Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: 4 x 10-hour day shifts (40 hours per week)

Summary

Perform a variety of diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams under physician direction to identify abnormalities for patient diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures that use high-frequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels.
• Prepare the exam room, obtain informed consent, and take an accurate clinical history as needed.
• Review patient history, select protocols, explain the exam, position the patient, and assess the patient's status and needs.
• Review completed tests for quality, completeness, and the type of test ordered. Ensure quality images and coordinate exam images and documentation for physician partners.
• Document and communicate patient information accurately, and incorporate physician instructions and caregiver observations into care.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team, and hand off safely between shifts.
• Monitor equipment reliability and safety, report issues, and order and stock supplies. Clean rooms and equipment, and transport patients as needed.
• Participate in quality initiatives, including patient satisfaction, patient care, and workflow.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work on site during scheduled business hours or shifts.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an Echo Technologist, including experience within the last year.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI, or ARDMS registration.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Transesophageal echo experience.
• Stress and dobutamine echo experience.

On-Call Expectations

• Share on-call obligations on nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Respond within 30 minutes when on call.
