Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This role primarily involves caring for an adult patient population. The position follows the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010).

Required Skills & Experience

• Cardiac Telemetry Care experience
• Experience working with a diverse patient population including:

  • Myocardial Infarction (MI)
  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Strokes
  • Stable arrhythmias
  • Other patients requiring closer cardiac monitoring and assessment
• Professional nursing knowledge typically acquired through at least 2 years of education at an accredited School of Nursing to be eligible for RN licensure

Education Requirements

• Required: Associate’s degree in nursing
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing

Certifications & Licensure

• Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) participating state
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent
• AHA HeartCode Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for healthcare providers or equivalent
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is required
