Location: Rio Rancho, New Mexico
Employment Type: Clinical - Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process.
  • Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per protocols.
  • Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs.
  • Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
  • Complete patient population, procedure, and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
  • Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required.
  • Must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test onsite before starting; one retest allowed.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Mexico
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience, including experience within the last year
  • At least 13 weeks of total travel nursing experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Epic electronic health record experience preferred but not required; training available onsite.
