Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech

Overview

• Travel assignment in Laurium, Michigan.
• Primary location: Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• Guaranteed hours: 40 per week.
• Shift: 4x10 days, with variable start times; typically 0700-1730, with possible earlier start at 0630 or later starts at 0800 or 0900 depending on cases.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with 2 years of experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year.
• BLS.
• CST.
• Graduation from a certified surgical technologist program.
• Experience with orthospine surgery.
• Sterile Processing Technician experience.

Schedule / Call

• On call 1-2 times per week from end of shift to 0700 the next day.
• Every 4th weekend call, covering Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through 0700 Monday.
• No holiday shifts, but holiday call is required.
• May be low censused and put on call.
• Call back minimum is 2 hours.

Additional Details

• Epic charting is used.
• Standard surgical supplies and instruments are used.
• Scrub colors are provided.
• Eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours.
• During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times; compliance is mandatory.
