Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Mammographer with experience in 3D Tomosynthesis and preferred experience with Hologic Mammography equipment. The role involves performing mammography procedures with technical proficiency, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining equipment quality control.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform correlative breast examinations; document scars, moles, and pertinent findings.
• Provide individualized breast self-examination instruction and emphasize the importance of annual clinical breast exams.
• Properly identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocols.
• Review patient history and physician orders; apply departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition.
• Document patient history in electronic records.
• Demonstrate strong skills in radioactive material safety.
• Perform mammography procedures including breast compression, positioning, and special views to maximize diagnostic quality.
• Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring physical safety and comfort.
• Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and alleviate fears.
• Conduct equipment quality control using radioactive sources and evaluate results to ensure performance standards.

Location 1: UPMC Union Deposit, Harrisburg, PA

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Scrub Color: Black
• Parking: Available in front or back of office
• License: ARRT Board registered in Radiology Technologist and Mammography Technologist
• Call Requirement: None

Location 2: UPMC at Fredericksen Outpatient Center, Mechanicsburg, PA

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Scrub Color: Black
• Parking: Staff parking lot
• License: ARRT registered in Radiology and Mammography
• Call Requirement: None

Requirements

• Registered Mammographer with 3D Tomosynthesis training
• Preferred experience with Hologic Mammography equipment
• ARRT registration in Radiology and Mammography
• Strong knowledge of radioactive material safety
• Ability to perform quality control procedures on equipment

This position offers a stable long-term contract with no call requirements and standard weekday shifts.
