Registered Nurse – Outpatient Nephrology

Location: Norfolk, Virginia

Shift: 10-hour days, Monday to Friday

Job Summary

This is a Registered Nurse position in an outpatient nephrology clinic (not dialysis). The RN will manage clinic-based patient care including assessments, care coordination, education, and provider support. The role involves providing developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care to pediatric patients, supporting quality patient care, and participating in patient and staff education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care to pediatric patients.
• Plan, provide, and monitor specific patient needs following established policies and regulations.
• Participate in ongoing quality assurance and maintain regulatory requirements.
• Assist in establishing and updating applicable policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum of 3 years of clinic experience, including experience within the last year.
• Experience working with pediatric patients.
• Experience in nephrology.
• Pediatrics experience.

Working Conditions

• Patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as noise, dust, or temperature extremes.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions related to patient care activities.

Additional Notes

• This position requires outpatient nephrology experience, specifically with pediatric patients.
• This is not a dialysis role.
