Job Opportunity: Histotechnician

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
Specialty: Histology Tech
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements

Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- Certified Histotechnician (HT) or Certified Histotechnologist (HTL) via ASCP
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in histology
- Preferred 3 years of experience
- No prior travel experience explicitly required
Education:
- Associate’s degree preferred
Skills & Duties:
- Routine Histology (Embedding, Microtomy)
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
- Special Stains
- Digital Pathology
- Detail-oriented
Specialization:
- No specialization in muscle, kidney, or other specific areas required
- No requirement to cover other lab areas or perform phlebotomy

Work Environment

Department: LAB - Histology Tech
Lab Information Systems: Epic Beaker
Equipment: Roche
Supervision: Technical Coordinator reporting to Lab Director

Schedule

Shift: Wednesday through Sunday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Weekend: Required
Holidays: Required if staffing needs arise
Call: No call or standby call required
Self-Scheduling: Not allowed

Orientation

Organization orientation on Day 1
Lab-specific orientation on Day 2
Clinicians must be in-state for the week of orientation, even if some modules are remote

Additional Notes

Must submit a valid driver’s license
Radius for travel: 60 miles
Dress code: Any professional colors
