Travel Nursing Opportunity: MS/ICU/IMC RN

Unit Details

• Unit Type: MS/ICU/IMC
• Number of Beds: 20
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:

  • MS: 1:5 (days), 1:6 (nights)
  • IMC: 1:4
  • ICU: 1:2
  • Pediatrics: 1:3-4
• Patient Population: Primarily elderly with a variety of cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, skin, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, orthopedic, sepsis, outpatient transfusions/antibiotic infusions, and stable pediatric patients.

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)

Experience Requirements

• ICU experience required
• Pediatric experience preferred
• RN must be able to titrate drips (e.g., Heparin, insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, PCA fentanyl, Propofol, Norepinephrine)
• Ability to read rhythm strips is required (telemetry monitored remotely)

Staffing and Support

• Charge Nurses take patient assignments
• House Supervisors do not take assignments
• CNAs available with ratios approximately 1:8-10
• Respiratory Therapists available 24/7
• Telemetry monitored remotely by techs; nurses must interpret strips if needed

Equipment Used

• CPAP, BIPAP, Vapotherm
• Servo U and Hamilton ventilators

Scheduling and Shifts

• 12-hour shifts: 0700-1930 and 1900-0730
• CNA shifts: 0600-1830 and 1800-0630
• Block scheduling available if possible
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday requirement: Every other holiday
• Call/Standby: Yes, on rotation if census is low (rare cancellations)
• Floating: Required in-house to ED, UC, PACU as needed; interfacility float to nearby locations

Orientation

• 1 day computer-based training and hospital orientation
• 1-2 days on-shift orientation

Additional Notes

• Navy scrubs for RNs, Ceil Blue for CNAs
• Clinicians must clock in/out at the facility
• Prior work at this facility requires a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
