• Location: Federal Way, Washington
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Yes, 2 of the winter holidays
• Floating: Required; primary assignment to one facility with possible float to other regional hospitals
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Yes, 24/7 charge nurse coverage; House Supervisor coverage weekdays and weekends
• Nurse Aids: Yes, with ratios approximately 1:8-10
• Orientation: Unit/department specific orientation provided
• Parking: On-site free parking available

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Number of Beds: 24
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:3-4
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Pneumonia, ARDS, COVID-19 infection, Hypertensive urgency, Angina, post-cardiac catheterization, Alcohol withdrawal
• Respiratory Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, High flow oxygen
• Telemetry: Remote monitor techs with RN approval; RNs read strips
• Drip Titration: RNs are required to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, Dobutamine

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Required Experience & Skills

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required
• Ability to titrate drips as listed
• Flexibility with schedule and floating within the region

Additional Information

• Standby call may be required if extra staff is available
• No specific scrub color or dress code mandated
• Must be flexible to float between multiple hospitals within the region
