Job Opportunity: Surgical Tech (OR Tech)
Location: Seattle, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a 22-suite OR unit (expandable to 26) across 3 floors
- Average 50-65 cases per day
- Cases include:
- GYN, Urology, Vascular, Plastic, Orthopedics (total hips/knees)
- Neuro, Cardiovascular, Thoracic
- General surgery (Breast, HPB, Bariatric)
- Sports Medicine (Hand, Podiatry)
- Kidney and kidney/pancreatic transplants
- ENT (FESS sinus, septoplasty, cochlear implant, tympanoplasty, laryngoscopy, thyroid/parathyroid soft tissue)
- Robotic surgery with DaVinci Xi (GYN, Uro, General)
- 16 total different service lines, including large and complex cases
Schedule & Call
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (variable days Monday-Friday)
- Start times: 6:30 AM, 9:00 AM, or 11:00 AM (consistent within the same week)
- No self-scheduling
- Call: 1 call per 4-week schedule (weeknight or weekend)
- Weeknight call: from end of shift until 7 AM next day
- Weekend call: 24 hours (7 AM to 7 AM), rotated among staff and travelers
- Call response time: 30 minutes (call room available)
- No holiday call requirements
- No floating required
Orientation & Training
- 2-day orientation with HR and OR leadership, including a scavenger hunt and shadowing a surgical tech
- Travelers must bring their own earphones for online training during orientation
Required Qualifications
- Must have Washington State Surgical Tech license at time of application (no pending licenses accepted)
- BLS Certification required
- Graduate of an accredited surgical tech school
- Minimum 1 year of scrubbing experience required
- Experience with ENT cases listed above and DaVinci Xi robotic system required
- First-time travelers are accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)
