Job Opportunity: RN – Neurology Rehab
Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Job Description
- Work in a 52-bed Neuro Rehab unit with a primarily neurological patient population (90%) including TBI, brain tumor resection, CVA, lung, liver transplant patients.
- Unit is a low stimulation area with interdisciplinary team rounds 5 days a week, 3 hours per day of therapy.
- Average length of stay: 19-21 days.
- Busy times: 6-9 AM and 6:30-9 PM.
- Nurses must be comfortable with a high level of communication and personal involvement with patients and families, emphasizing partnership of care.
- Acute MedSurg care skills required (IV therapy, wound care, etc.).
- Floating to other MedSurg units expected.
- Floor-specific orientation: 2 shifts.
- Shifts include 12-hour nights; weekend and holiday coverage required.
Unit Details
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
- Tech-to-patient ratio: 1:8
- Charge nurses: 2 with light assignments depending on census
- Nurse aides available
- Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
- Pharmacy available 24/7
- Rehab Physicians round daily with on-call coverage at night
- IV Team (SWAT RN) available for difficult IV sticks
- EMR system: Cerner
- Scrub color: Slate grey
- Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in an 8-week period
- Holidays worked as part of core rotation
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license appropriate for Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of core experience in Neurology Rehab specialty (Level 1 Trauma and teaching experience required)
- Strong MedSurg experience required; Rehab experience preferred
- BLS Certification required
- Must pass Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam 24-48 hours prior to acceptance (max 2 attempts)
- Must pass Day 1 pass/fail SIMs Lab (Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes)
- No facial piercings and only natural hair colors allowed
- Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
- Must have own vehicle if part of travel teams
- Prior travel experience is required for ED and Neuro ICU roles (not explicitly stated for this role)
- Must not hold concurrent contracts with this employer
- Must have been off permanent staff at this employer for 12 months to be eligible for travel assignment
