Job Opportunity: ER Float RN

Location: Laveen, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced ER Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Arizona. This role involves floating between multiple emergency room satellite locations in the area. The schedule will be provided in advance, specifying the assigned location.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in various ER satellite locations.
• Maintain competency in sterile field techniques, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing changes (or port-a-cath insertion depending on location).
• Participate in required pass/fail SIM Lab on Day 1 of orientation.
• Pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (maximum of 2 attempts).
• Work 12-hour shifts with a 4:1 patient ratio.
• Weekend work every other weekend; holiday shifts as needed.
• Use Cerner EMR system.
• Perform lab draws as part of ER staff duties.
• No IV team support; nurses perform their own IV starts.
• Wear designated scrub color (Galaxy Blue).
• Be vent-capable.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience.
• Active Arizona RN license or compact license.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• TNCC certification preferred but not required.
• COVID-19 vaccination required or approved declination form for medical or religious reasons.
• Must not have worked as permanent staff or PRN in Arizona acute care hospitals within the past 12 months.

Additional Information

• Floating between multiple ER satellite locations including but not limited to Goodyear, Camelback, Mesa, Glendale, and Surprise.
• Orientation includes unit-specific training.
• Competency in sterile field maintenance is critical; lack of competency may disqualify candidates.
• Pass/fail SIM Lab covers Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, lifts, restraints, and wound care education.
• This is a travel assignment with specific requirements for prior Arizona employment restrictions.

Schedule & Work Environment

• 12-hour shifts.
• Every other weekend required.
• Holidays as needed.
• Work primarily in ER settings with a 4:1 patient ratio.
• Floating required between satellite ER locations.

This position is ideal for ER nurses with strong clinical skills, flexibility to float between locations, and the ability to pass required competency exams.
