Labor & Delivery RN Opportunity – Show Low, Arizona

Job Overview

• Position: Labor & Delivery (L&D) Travel Nurse
• Location: Show Low, Arizona (Regional hospital in the White Mountains)
• Shift: Three 12-hour night shifts per week (6 PM – 6 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (flexible coverage)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Orientation: Every Monday

Unit Details

• Beds:

  • 7 L&D beds
  • 2 Triage beds
  • 10 Postpartum beds
• Births: 1-3 births per day (~830 births per year)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 1:2
• Support Staff: Respiratory Therapist 24/7, Patient Care Technicians, Health Unit Secretary, OB scrub tech, Health Unit Coordinator
• Call: One shift per 4-week schedule
• Pharmacy: 24/7 in-house
• OB/Neonatologist: Not in-house

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arizona
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• C-section experience
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• NIHSS certification
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring and managing fetal distress
• Experience caring for high-risk patients, including those with pre-eclampsia
• Strong clinical background and assessment skills to manage OB emergencies until provider arrival

Additional Information

• Nurse manager may occasionally see patients
• Floating to other units (ED or MedSurg) may be required if experienced
• Must have an active Arizona or compact nursing license
