Travel Rad Tech Opportunity - Illinois (Olympia Fields)

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Unit Overview

  • Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory / Interventional Laboratory
  • 4 procedure rooms (including EP studies, pacemaker and ICD implants, cardiac catheterization, peripheral and interventional radiology procedures)
  • 12-bed pre/post procedure holding area
  • Staff includes RNs, Radiologic Technologists, and one RCIS
  • Patient ratio: 2 RNs and 1 RT per procedure
  • Equipment: Philips Allura FD20-1, Philips Azurion-2, GE room, Merge hemodynamic monitoring, Philips ISCV PACS system
  • EMR system: EPIC

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift times vary: 07:00-15:30, 08:00-16:30, or 09:00-17:30
  • Call required 9-11 times per month, including one weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
  • Block scheduling with 4x10 hour shifts approved
  • Weekends only when on call

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Licensed ARRT for the state of Illinois
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology)
  • Experience scrubbing cardiac catheterization procedures including coronary interventions and STEMIs
  • Experience scrubbing pacemaker and defibrillator device implants
  • Experience scrubbing interventional radiology procedures
  • Must be able to scrub cardiac cath cases and STEMI programs

Preferred Skills / Procedures

  • Left and right heart catheterization
  • Coronary interventions and thrombectomy
  • Temporary pacemaker insertions, cardioversions, IABP insertion
  • Impella and PLVAD placements
  • Rotoblator coronary atherectomy
  • Peripheral angiograms and interventions, atherectomy, thrombolysis, mechanical thrombectomy
  • Renal interventions, carotid stenting, endovascular abdominal artery stent grafting
  • Central line insertions, PICC lines, permacaths, fistulograms, fistula declotting, PTA/stenting
  • Embolic procedures including uterine artery embolization, GI embolization, Y-90 hepatic radiation embolization, GI bleed embolization
  • Drains, abscessograms, kyphoplasty
  • Implantable loop recorder insertions/removals
  • Permanent single, dual, CRT-P device insertions, ICD insertions and generator change outs
  • Diagnostic electrophysiology procedures and ablations
