- Unit: 2F Med Surg (General medical surgical floor, stroke and neuro designated unit)
- Number of Beds: 34 (max capacity 43 patients)
- Patient Ratios: 5:1
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 3 techs, 1 unit secretary (if at max capacity)
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 1 tech, 1 unit secretary (if at max capacity)
- Equipment: Remote telemetry
- EMR System: Meditech
Required Certifications and Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Registered Nurse License
Preferred Certifications
- NIH Stroke Certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in the specialty
Additional Information
- Typical procedures involve general medical surgical care, stroke, and neuro patients
- Ideal personality: upbeat, engaged, compassionate
- Dress code: navy scrubs
- The unit has received multiple Daisy awards and is stroke certified
- The unit has maintained over 850 days CAUTI free
