Travel RN - Emergency Room
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (48-hour shifts)
Schedule: 4 weekend shifts per schedule
Float Requirement: Must float to facility FSEDs as needed
Unit Information
- Unit: Emergency Department
- Number of Beds: 32+
- Number of Staff: 117 total
- Day Shift: 1 CNC, 6 RNs, 1 Medic, 1 PCT
- Mid Shift: 2 CNCs, 15 RNs, 2 Medics, 2 PCTs
- Night Shift: 1 CNC, 6 RNs, 1 Medic, 1 PCT
- Patient Ratios: 4:1
- EMR System: Meditech
- Permanent Positions Available: Yes
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse License
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Emergency Room nursing
- Prior travel experience not required (no explicit mention)
Skills & Procedures
- Must have: TNCC, ENPC, ACLS, BLS by start date
- Preferred: Greater than 2 years experience considered first
- Typical procedures performed:
- Lumbar Puncture (LP)
- Intubations
- TNK administration
- Laceration repair
- Suture removal
- Splinting
