Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry (Travel)

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel (Full Time)
Shift: Days, 7 AM - 7 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a cardiac and telemetry unit (not a stepdown unit). Manage clinical situations, make appropriate assignments, and delegate tasks to other care providers.

Patient Population

• Cardiac and telemetry patients
• Nurse to patient ratio: 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers

Requirements

Education & Licenses

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year

Additional Information

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On Call: No call required
• Floating: May be required to float if needed
• Temp to perm possibility
