Job Opportunity: Perinatal Sonographer (Travel)
Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Perinatal Sonographer to perform sonographic examinations under the supervision of a physician. The role involves acquiring and analyzing ultrasound data, generating reports, and collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient care. This position requires adherence to policies, patient safety, and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
Work Schedule
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (can be full or half days)
- No call or weekend shifts required
- May be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
- Possible floating to other areas within competency level
Required Licenses & Certifications
- ARDMS in Obstetrics or Gynecology (required)
- RVT registry (preferred)
- BLS (required)
- Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification (preferred but not required)
- NRP certification (not required but a plus)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Perinatal Sonographer
- Experience with both clinic and inpatient scans required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all requested sonographic exams as ordered by physicians
- Use independent judgment to produce high-quality diagnostic information
- Generate and report findings using PACS system
- Prepare preliminary reports and communicate with referring physicians as needed
- Organize daily work schedule and perform clerical duties
- Prepare and clean exam rooms; sterilize equipment
- Ensure patient safety and well-being during exams
- Address patient care issues and coordinate with staff
- Recognize and respond to emergencies appropriately
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with privacy policies
- Serve as a communication liaison between physicians and patients

- Responsible for daily operations of the sonographic lab and equipment performance
- Accountable for clinical sonographic quality and adherence to policies and laws
- Position involves direct patient care under physician supervision
