Travel RN Opportunity - Telemetry Unit

Location: Springfield, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Telemetry (Tele)
  • Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (flexible, must be indicated on submission)
  • Weekend Hours: As required by facility
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Float Requirements: Will float on a rotational basis

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
  • Required Certifications:
    • BLS (AHA only)
    • 4 trauma credits (must have or complete within first 2 weeks)
    • NIHSS (must obtain prior to start; may submit without initially)
  • Preferred Certification: ACLS (AHA only)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience (inpatient only)
  • Experience and competence in drug titration required
  • Preferred: Trauma experience (inpatient only)
  • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 32
  • Patient Ratios (estimates):
    • Days: 1:5 to 1:6
    • Nights: 1:6 to 1:8
  • Equipment: Alaris pumps, telemetry, lift equipment
  • EMR System: EPIC
  • Patient Population: Cardiac/Medical-Surgical

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Stand and walk most of the shift
  • Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients (with assistance)
  • Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, crawling
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids
  • Must be flexible with schedules and shifts as patient care requires

Additional Information

  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 to April 1 (no declinations accepted)
  • Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
  • Professional accountability and adherence to nursing standards, patient confidentiality, and facility mission/values expected
  • Dress code: Black scrubs; no torn clothes or open-toed shoes
