Job Description

• Provide direct patient care on a psychiatric unit.
• Perform plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care and monitor patient condition, communicating with care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines for patient care coordination including transfers, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Evaluate and provide patient and family education tailored to age, culture, and condition.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current RN license to practice in North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI) preferred.
• Experience: 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing (higher end of 1-2 years range).
• Prior Travel Experience: Not specified as required.
