Job Opportunity: Neurodiagnostic Tech

Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

As a Neurodiagnostic Technician, you will assist in complex neurodiagnostic procedures involving the central and peripheral nervous system to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neurological diseases. You will perform and assist with various neurodiagnostic exams under supervision, ensuring adherence to industry standards and physician orders to improve patient outcomes.


Work Schedule

  • Shift: Saturday – Tuesday, 4x10 hour shifts
  • Hours: 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Weekly guaranteed hours: 40
  • Call required, including weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
  • May be required to float within competency level and pick up an additional shift during the schedule period

Responsibilities

  • Perform neurodiagnostic examinations such as EEGs, long-term epilepsy monitoring, 24-hour EEGs, evoked potentials, nerve conduction studies, and intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring
  • Prepare technical histories and select test protocols
  • Ensure patient safety and test completeness according to professional standards
  • Maintain exam records and files
  • Schedule patients and evaluate their ability to tolerate exams
  • Operate sophisticated electrophysiological neurodiagnostic equipment
  • Participate in training and skill development to work autonomously
  • Provide patient care for all age groups, from newborn to geriatric
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to integrate neurodiagnostic needs

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) certification from the American Board of Electroencephalographic & Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET)
  • Minimum of 2 years of EEG Technologist experience, including experience within the last year

Additional Information
