CT Techs are also responsible for the preparation of and caring for patients undergoing CT scanning.  TasksAs a CT Tech, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:<ul><li>Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients, providing reassurance and support as required</li><li>Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions </li><li>Appropriately position patients to scan specific areas of their bodies</li><li>Use computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients' internal organs and tissues</li><li>Administer radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues</li><li>Evaluate CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality</li><li>Follow safety procedures when working with radiation</li><li>Maintain accurate patient records</li><li>Understand and use the McKesson PACS system </li></ul>RequirementsMust have 1 year of experience. Job Details:
• Work night shifts on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday with some schedule variation 
• No on-call responsibilities required 
• Must be ARRT registered in Radiology and cross-trained in CT (minimum requirement) 
• ARRT CT certification optional 
• Work with Siemens Definition AS and Force CT scanners, GE and Philips XR systems 
• Must be a graduate of an accredited AMA school and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) 
• Must be licensed by the state as a general radiographer 
• Perform basic radiographic procedures, fluoroscopy, portable radiographic procedures, C-arm procedures, and OR imaging services 
• Demonstrate proficiency in routine diagnostic CT scanning procedures including CT of head/brain, neck, thorax, spine, abdomen/pelvis, extremities and biopsy/drainage procedures 
• Knowledge required of CT system processing, surgical/sterile procedures, studies with or without contrast media, and cross-sectional anatomy 
• Provide timely diagnostic services to both inpatient and outpatient populations under radiologist direction and departmental protocols
