Surgical Tech - OR Tech

Location: Redding, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced OR Tech for a travel assignment in a hospital setting. The role involves supporting a variety of surgical cases including cardiovascular, orthopedic, general, vascular, neuro/spine, ENT, and trauma surgeries. Transplant cases are excluded.

Work Schedule

• Shifts: 8, 10, and 12 hours (typical 12-hour day or mid shifts with varied start times)
• Shift Times: 6:30 am - 3 pm (8-hour), mids start at 9 am or 10:45 am
• Call: 1-2 weeknights per week; weekend call approximately once per month (from end of shift Friday through 6:30 am Monday)
• Weekend and holiday coverage is on call
• Floor-specific orientation: 1 shift with preceptor

Patient Population / Case Types

• Cardiovascular OR: CABG, valve surgeries, pacers, lead extractions, lung cases
• Main OR: Orthopedics (total joints), general surgery, vascular, neuro/spine, ENT, trauma
• Strong experience required with total joints, general, vascular, and spine cases

Facility / Environment Details

• EMR system: Cerner Surginet
• Telemetry monitoring: Phillips system
• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
• Pharmacy available 24/7
• Scrubs provided by hospital
• No IV team on site
• Reporting structure includes Clinical Supervisor, OR Director, and OR Manager

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of OR Tech experience
• Active BLS certification required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required (with certification)

Additional Notes

• Patient-to-staff ratio: 1:1
• No floating required
• No hospitalist or intensivist on site

• Typical weekly hours: 36 hours
