Location

• Renton, Washington
• About 10 minutes south of Seattle

Schedule

• 12-hour evening and night shifts
• Variable scheduling with heavier evening and overnight coverage
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required

Contract Length

• 11 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS
• BLS
• ENPC
• NIHSS
• PALS
• TNCC
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Trauma experience
• Experience with Epic

Unit Details

• 55-bed emergency department with 4 trauma bays and 8–12 swing beds
• Fast track area
• Separate triage area
• Separate psych/seclusion rooms
• 24/7 monitor tech support
• In-house security
• Average of 250 patients per day
• Ratios: 4:1 in main ED, 5:1 in accelerated care, 2:1 in critical care

Common Patient Types

• STEMI
• Stroke
• DKA
• Sepsis
• Trauma
• Respiratory diseases
• Behavioral health

Responsibilities

• May be asked to triage after additional orientation and competency testing
• Manage ER holds
• Transport critical patients
• Draw ABGs
• Set up small-dose breathing treatments
• Perform ECGs with MST staff

Orientation

• First day with ED leadership and badging
• 2–3 bedside orientation shifts

• No call or standby requirement
• No floating requirement
• Scrub color: royal blue for nursing
