Overview

Histology Tech assignment in Bakersfield, California
13-week contract
Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts
40 hours per week
Manager will interview

Required Qualifications

BLS (AHA)
Certified Histotechnician (HT) via ASCP

Responsibilities

Prepare histologic and cytologic materials
Perform routine and special stains
Catalog, store, and properly dispose of tissues, blocks, and slides
Maintain records such as temperature charts and workload statistics
Perform maintenance and problem solving
Assist the pathologist with establishing and documenting new procedures for special techniques
Assist the supervisor with implementing new procedures
Assist with in-service and training as needed
Document quality assurance
