Overview

• Travel assignment in Redding, California
• 13-week contract
• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Unit: ICU / Trauma ICU
• 30 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2, with 1:1 to 1:2 as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in California
• BLS
• 2+ years of ICU specialty experience
• Experience with trauma patients
• Experience with ICP monitoring and ventrics, or experience with post-TPA patients if that experience is not present
• Ability to titrate vasopressors and sedation drips
• Must be able to interpret strips
• Must pass an onsite dysrhythmia test on day one

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• PALS
• Previous travel experience

Unit Details

• Charge nurse is on duty 24/7 and does not take a patient assignment
• House supervisor is on duty 24/7
• 1 unit tech supports all 30 beds
• Intensivist is in house 24/7
• RT is assigned to the ICU 24/7
• Hamilton vents are used
• Floating may include PCU, CICU, tele, or medsurg units
• In CICU, the traveler will have an ICU patient, not an open-heart patient
• Every other weekend is required
• No call or standby requirement for the traveler
• Navy scrubs
• 1 day of unit orientation, with more provided if needed
