Required Qualifications

• Must be in state for the week of orientation, even if first-day modules are remote
• Must have a driver’s license submitted
• Must live within 60 miles

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
• No nurse aides on the unit
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• Hospitalist or intensivist in house
• RT in ICU 24/7
• No tele/monitor techs on the unit

Scheduling and Work Expectations

• Self-scheduling and block scheduling
• Full-time and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required
• Call or standby requirement is determined by the nurse manager
• Floating is determined by the nurse manager; in extreme need, may float within Zone 3
• First to float

Clinical Details

• Common diagnoses/types of patients: abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, extremity pain
• Common titratable or set-rate drips: vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics, metabolic, specialized
• RT equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, vents
