Job Opportunity: RN (Registered Nurse) – CVICU
Location: Prescott, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit)
- Number of Beds: 12
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 based on patient acuity
- Intensivists available in-house
- Respiratory Therapists available department-wide 24/7
- Respiratory equipment includes vents, BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, HiFlow
- Telemetry: In-room monitors only (Nihon Khoden); RNs read strips (no monitor techs)
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor coverage: 24/7
- No nurse aides on unit
Schedule & Requirements
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Scheduling: 7 days per week
- Weekend Requirement: 2 weekend shifts per pay period (every two weeks); shifts may vary (Friday or Saturday nights)
- Holiday Requirement: Yes
- Call/Standby: Yes, maximum 3 per 12 weeks per contract
- Floating: Required as needed to ICU, PCU, MS, Tele units across both campuses
- Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs
- Unit-specific orientation provided
Required Qualifications
- Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years CVICU experience
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
- Must pass dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing
- Experience with IABP, CRRT, and fresh open heart surgery (OHS) from OR required
- RNs are required to titrate drips (common drips include Dexmedetomidine, Propofol, Dopamine, Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Levosimendan, Insulin, Cardene)
- Impella experience desired
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system preferred
- Radius Rule: Candidates must not have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN at any CommonSpirit-associated facility (including CHI or Dignity) within the past year and must live within 50 miles
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

- Travel duo candidates must have their own vehicles and will not share schedules
- Floating assignments may include ICU, PCU, MS, and Tele units
- This position requires flexibility and the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and float as needed
