Job Opportunity: Surgical Tech (OR Tech)
Location: Seattle, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Surgical Tech (OR Tech) with experience in a high-volume operating room setting. The position involves working across multiple surgical suites and service lines with a variety of complex cases.
Required Qualifications
- License: Must have a valid Washington State Surgical Tech license at time of application (no pending licenses accepted).
- Certifications: BLS certification required. CST national certification not required but must be registered with Washington State.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of scrubbing experience required. First-time travelers are welcome.
- Special Skills:
- Experience with ENT cases including FESS (sinus), septoplasty, cochlear implant, tympanoplasty, laryngoscopy, and soft tissue thyroid/parathyroid procedures.
- Experience with Da Vinci Xi robotic system (Gyn, Uro, General surgeries) is required.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Shifts: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (variable days and start times Monday-Friday). Start times typically 6:30 AM, 9:00 AM, or 11:00 AM.
- Call: One call shift per 4-week schedule (weeknight or weekend). Weekday call from end of shift until 7 AM next day; weekend call is 24 hours (7 AM to 7 AM), rotated among staff and travelers. Call response time is 30 minutes with a call room available.
- Orientation: 2-day unit-specific orientation including HR and OR leadership, plus shadowing with a surgical tech.
- Scrubs: Teal scrubs provided.
- Additional Notes: Physicians and team are supportive and willing to teach. Travelers often extend their contracts.
Typical Cases
- GYN, Urology, Vascular, Plastic, Orthopedic (total hips/knees), Neurosurgery, Cardiovascular, Thoracic, General Surgery (Breast, HPB, Bariatric), Sports Medicine (Hand, Podiatry), Kidney and kidney/pancreatic transplants, ENT procedures, and robotic surgeries using Da Vinci Xi.
Additional Information
- Parking is not reimbursed; travelers must pay for parking or use public transit.
- Travelers must bring their own earphones for the first week of orientation for online training onsite.

- Not required. First-time travelers are accepted.
